The Punjab School Education Department has launched a new e-transfer cycle for teachers, providing an opportunity for promoted educators, those awaiting postings, and employees seeking mutual transfers to secure placements through the online system.
According to the latest instructions issued by the department, eligible teachers can submit their transfer applications through the e-transfer portal during the announced application period. The move is aimed at ensuring transparency, merit, and efficiency in the teacher posting process across Punjab.
The new transfer round covers several categories of employees, including teachers recently promoted to higher grades, educators waiting for official posting orders, and staff members applying for mutual transfers. Education officials believe the initiative will help fill vacant positions more effectively and improve staff distribution in schools.

An important part of the process involves the review of appeals submitted by teachers. Departmental authorities will examine objections and requests before finalizing transfer decisions. After the scrutiny process is completed, final posting and transfer orders will be issued through the official system.
The School Education Department has also directed district education authorities to ensure that all promoted teachers are properly updated and tagged in the School Information System (SIS). Accurate data entry is considered essential for smooth processing and fair allocation of vacancies.
Officials have warned teachers to carefully select and submit sufficient preferences for available posts. Those who fail to provide enough preferences, or do not submit any options at all, may be assigned to any vacant position by the department through the SIS portal. This step is intended to prevent delays in postings and ensure that schools with staffing shortages receive teachers without unnecessary interruptions.
The latest e-transfer phase is expected to benefit thousands of teachers across Punjab. Education experts say the online transfer mechanism has significantly reduced manual processing and increased transparency compared to traditional transfer methods.
