Girls vs Boys: Federal Board Class 9 Results 2026

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has released the detailed SSC Part-I (Class 9) Result Gazette, revealing that girls outperformed boys in the overall examination. The official statistics show a noticeable gap in pass rates, with female students leading in every major category.

According to the official FBISE result gazette, 150,077 students were enrolled for the examination, while 148,311 candidates appeared. Out of them, 88,646 students passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 59.77%.

The gender-wise data highlights an impressive performance by female candidates. A total of 71,859 girls appeared in the examination, and 46,384 successfully passed, resulting in a 64.55% pass rate. In comparison, 76,452 boys appeared, with 42,262 passing, giving boys a 55.28% success rate.

This means girls achieved a pass rate that was 9.27 percentage points higher than boys. Interestingly, female students also produced 4,122 more successful candidates, despite having 4,877 fewer enrolments than male candidates.

The trend remained consistent across different study groups. In the Regular Science Group, girls recorded an impressive 74.36% pass rate, while boys secured 62.79%. The difference was even more significant in the Regular Humanities Group, where girls achieved 29.82%, compared to just 14.28% for boys.

Female candidates also maintained their lead in the Ex-Private categories. In Science, girls recorded a 26.91% pass rate, while boys managed 17.98%. Similarly, in Humanities, girls achieved 10.27%, outperforming boys, who recorded 5.89%.
