PPSC Introduces Biometric Verification for Written Exams to Ensure Fair Testing System

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced a major change in its examination process by introducing a mandatory biometric verification system for candidates appearing in written examinations.

The new system aims to improve transparency, security, and credibility in the recruitment process by ensuring that only registered candidates can participate in the tests.

According to PPSC officials, biometric verification will be conducted at examination centers before candidates are allowed to enter the examination halls. The verification process will match candidates’ identities with their official records to prevent any misuse.

The Deputy Accountant recruitment examination will become the first written test conducted under this new verification system. More than 60,000 candidates are expected to participate, and all applicants will have to complete biometric verification before appearing in the exam.

PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmed said the introduction of biometric checks is an important step toward making competitive examinations more reliable. He added that the system will help eliminate impersonation cases and protect the rights of genuine candidates.

The commission stated that the biometric verification system will not remain limited to one examination. It will gradually be expanded to other PPSC written examinations to strengthen monitoring and maintain fairness throughout the recruitment process.

The move comes as government testing bodies across Pakistan continue adopting technology-based solutions to improve examination standards. Biometric verification has already been used in several sectors to confirm identities and reduce fraudulent activities.

For candidates, the new system means they must ensure their personal information, including CNIC details and application records, is accurate before appearing in examinations. Any mismatch in records could create problems during the verification process.

The Punjab Public Service Commission conducts competitive examinations for recruitment to various government departments in Punjab. The introduction of biometric verification is expected to bring more confidence among candidates and improve the overall credibility of the selection process.

With this digital security upgrade, the PPSC is moving toward a more transparent and technology-driven examination system that focuses on fairness, accountability, and equal opportunities for all applicants.
