The AI Summer Camp is designed to help students use their summer vacations productively by learning practical skills in AI, digital tools, problem-solving, and creative thinking. Officials said the program will introduce participants to emerging technologies through interactive learning sessions and expert guidance.

Highlighting the government’s focus on technology, Nehal Hashmi said the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif places strong emphasis on promoting Artificial Intelligence and expanding access to modern education. He added that deserving students should not miss learning opportunities because of financial limitations.

The governor expressed hope that today’s students would become tomorrow’s software engineers, AI specialists, data scientists, and technology entrepreneurs. He said empowering young people with digital knowledge would strengthen Pakistan’s innovation ecosystem and support long-term economic growth.

Admissions to the camp will be offered strictly on merit. According to the governor, any student who has basic knowledge of using a smartphone can apply, making the program accessible to a wide range of young learners.

The initiative also reflects the growing importance of AI education across Pakistan, where schools, universities, and public institutions are increasingly introducing technology-focused programs to prepare students for future employment. Experts believe that early exposure to Artificial Intelligence, coding, automation, and digital literacy can significantly improve students’ career prospects in both local and international markets.

Education experts have welcomed the launch, describing it as a positive step toward narrowing the country’s digital skills gap. They say similar initiatives can help create a workforce capable of meeting the demands of the global technology industry.
