The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has announced a new scholarship opportunity for Pakistani and international students wishing to pursue higher education at the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech). The scholarships are available for the upcoming academic intake and include fully funded, partially funded, and tuition discount schemes for eligible Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
The initiative aims to promote quality higher education, strengthen international academic collaboration, and provide students with access to globally recognized degree programs in engineering, business, logistics, architecture, computer science, and environmental sciences.
According to the details shared by HEC, GUtech is offering 10 Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships, each covering 100% tuition fees for the entire four-year Bachelor’s degree. Students applying for these awards must have obtained at least 95% marks in Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
In addition, 20 Undergraduate Merit Scholarships will provide 50% tuition fee coverage to students securing 90% or above in their qualifying examination. International Bachelor’s students may also qualify for scholarships covering up to 20% of tuition fees, while existing self-financed students can later become eligible for DAAD-supported scholarships after completing their first academic year.

For Master’s degree applicants, GUtech offers attractive tuition discounts. GUtech alumni can receive a 50% tuition waiver, while employees nominated through organizations participating in the university’s Preferred Partners Programme may receive discounts of up to 30%, increasing to 50% if multiple employees enroll in the same intake.

Applicants seeking the 100% and 50% scholarships must meet GUtech’s direct admission requirements and should not be receiving another scholarship simultaneously. Successful candidates are also required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 throughout their studies to retain the scholarship.
Since English is the medium of instruction, applicants must demonstrate language proficiency through recognized tests. GUtech generally requires an IELTS Academic score of 6.0, TOEFL iBT score of 76, or a Duolingo English Test score of 110, although applicants should verify the specific requirements for their chosen degree program.
The application deadline for the Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship, Merit Scholarship, and International Student Scholarship is 1 September 2026. Scholarship results are expected to be announced shortly after the evaluation process is completed.

Interested candidates must first submit an online admission application through the GUtech admission portal and obtain an application number. Afterward, applicants are required to complete the scholarship application form and prepare the required essays and supporting documents as specified by the university.
