Punjab’s Daanish Schools are set to welcome Bangladeshi students under a newly approved special admission quota, marking a significant step in expanding educational cooperation. The decision was taken by the Board of Governors of the Daanish Schools Authority during a meeting chaired by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
According to the official announcement, the special quota for Bangladeshi children has been approved on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and will be implemented from the next academic session. The initiative aims to strengthen educational ties while providing quality learning opportunities to deserving students.
The board also approved an increase in the admission quota for students from Balochistan. Officials said the move will help more talented students from underserved regions gain access to the high-quality education offered by Daanish Schools.
During the meeting, it was shared that around 1,100 students from other provinces are already studying in Daanish Schools under existing special quota programmes. The board reviewed the performance of these initiatives and discussed ways to further improve access to education.

Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat highlighted the growing success of the Daanish Schools network. He informed the board that 3,460 graduates are now serving in different professional fields across Pakistan, while 110 students are pursuing higher education at Beaconhouse University on fully funded scholarships.
The meeting also focused on improving the quality of education through technology. Officials confirmed that an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based curriculum has been introduced for Grades 6 to 9, helping students develop digital literacy, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills alongside their regular studies.
Members were further informed that 16 daycare centres have been established across Daanish Schools and Centres of Excellence to support students and staff. In addition, the plantation of 71,000 trees is being digitally monitored, reflecting the institution’s commitment to environmental sustainability and greener campuses.
The latest decisions underline the Punjab government’s continued efforts to expand educational opportunities, modernize the curriculum, and make Daanish Schools a model institution for students from Pakistan and beyond.
